Singing since the age of 4, Sonnie has used her gift to share love and compassion. Born and raised in Detroit, MI. the youngest of four, and completed coursework toward Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership. Sonnie is a SIX TIME Detroit Music Award winner, singer, songwriting, youth advocate and humanitarian. She is the 2019 Detroit Black Music Award Gospel Artist of the Year.

Sonnie has performed for Chrysler Corporation, Rib & Soul Festival, MotorCity Praisefest, Indiana Black Expo, Chicago African World Festival, Chene Park and more. She has appeared on Emmy Award winning television show I'm Just Sayin on TCT Television, Dorinda Clark-Cole television show, and several radio programs. Sonnie has taken her music in over 75 Prisons: Michigan, Illinois, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Wisconsin and Virginia to encourage the brokenhearted. She serves in her community as a Board Member of Incarcerated Youth Ministries, and previously with the Six  Mile/Meyers Community Development, and State of Michigan Female Responsive Task Force.
